Move Day
What a blissful day. Started out with bacon, eggs & toast on the fire and an instant peacefulness fell over the campsite when the geraas packed up and left. It was almost sad to have to pack up ourselves.
But we had already decided to change our Nature's Valley booking to an Addo Rondavel, in particular unit no 5 which we had already scoped out as having the best view.
We moved a few things over from the caravan to the rondavel. And before settling in too much, went for a quick game drive.
Then it was time to relax on our patio with the most incredible views ... a hillside teaming with wildlife. Braai fire lit, game of scrabble and we watched how 2 bull elephants interacted with a clear hierarchy between them.
Then the moment came, the real reason we wanted a rondavel, we heard the elephants starting to play in the water which was definitely out of sight of the main hide... well we still couldn't see them even though we could see much of the dam to the left of the hide's waterhole. What a magical evening listening for over 4 hours to the splish splash of an elephant having an absolute ball in the water.
O the rondavels are all great, very clean and has everything you'd need, there's even an oven and microwave in their camp kitchen, with kettle and toaster in your room. And the cutest elephant shaped towel !
