Lion's Galore

What fabulous sightings of Lions today. Thanks to the Addo whatsapp sightings group, we were alerted to the 4 lions on the side of the road along the Zuurberg loop... so slight change in plans, we skipped the lookout and went to spend some time watching these slightly over grown cubs ! I don't know who was having more fun... the cars taking turns to watch them or them watching the cars taking turns. They were trying hard to stay awake with a few big yawns and stretches, a few shuffles back and forth, heads going side to side like they were watching a tennis match and inbetween a few moments of shut eye.

Then it was off to Jack's Picnic site for a yummy lunch in a quiet corner before we were off to the next lion sighting. This time 3 big lions mostly sleeping next to the "public" road that intersects through the park. The 2 boys had beautiful big manes, but it was just so much effort for them to sit up during their nap time. For the briefest moment they sniffed the air when a family of warthog passed about 100m away.

Other cool sightings were a buffalo, the usual gathering of ellies at Harpoor and some entertaining meerkats.
